Top Movie Picks for the Week

Happy Hump Day guys!

You know what’s so great about Wednesday? Not only does it mean we’re already in the middle of the work week, it also means there are new movies to watch in cinemas! So for those of you who are planning to watch a movie, here are our top suggestions for the week.

  1. The Intern 

Starring Academy Award winners Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. Remember her as drab to fab Andy, assistant of Miranda Priestly also known as the Dragon Lady in The Devil Wears Prada? Well she’s come a long way from that. This time, Anne takes on the role of the boss but unlike Miranda, she’s actually nice!

The Plot: 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin.

2. Etiquette for Mistresses

If you didn’t know, this movie of Chinito S. Rono is based from the book of Julie Yap-Daza of the same title. The movie stars Kris Aquino, Kim Chiu, Iza Calzado, Cheena Crab and Claudine Barretto in her come back role.

The plot: The film focuses on five women (mistresses) who shares one secret.

3. The Martian

If you’re up for some sci-fi flick, then this movie is for you! The film is based on a novel by Andy Weir of the same title. The film stars Matt Damon, best known for his role as Jason Bourne.

The plot: During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
